The mission of the Kumon Ladue Center is to help your children achieve their maximum potential in math and reading. Every child, from 3-year-olds through high-school seniors, has different potential and different goals. Kumon works to help both advanced and remedial students. They have a math and reading program that emphasizes accuracy and speed to achieve your child's maximum potential.

Established in 1984 by Dr. Dan Kimura, a professor at Washington University, the Ladue Kumon center was the first Kumon Center in the Midwest. Dr. Kimura learned about the Kumon Method in his hometown Moriguchi, a suburb of Osaka, Japan, where Mr. Tohru Kumon started his method in 1955. Both Mr. Kumon and Dr. Kimura graduated from Osaka University. Dr. and Mrs. Kimura introduced the Kumon Method to St. Louis in 1984 to assist their two sons, 5th and 6th graders at the time, with school math.
