Description
Get the tour that inspired the Indigo Girls to write a song about The Music Hall...
Go back in time with this specialized 90min "Techie Tour" of the Music Hall. Not only will you hear about close to 400 years of history on this site, with a focus on the last 136, of course from our Historian Zhana Morris, but you will get to see up close and personal exactly how our Production team makes things happen backstage. Learn how they integrate rigging methods that date back to the Ancient Greek theater with modern technology. Ever wonder how they change the color of the lights? Or focus a single beam to highlight a piece of scenery while keeping the rest of the stage dark? Exactly how hard is it to lower and raise the big red curtain? Wonder no more, on this tour you will not only hear about it, you will get to do it yourself! We will take you through all areas of the theater, showcasing the details of our recent restoration. We will take you on to the stage and up into the rafters to see exactly how things work each and every day by our technicians. We will take you to see autographs and engravements of the men who built our theater in 1878.
