Join Shoals Marine Lab Director, Dr. Jennifer Seavey, for a cruise on one of UNH’s research vessels to beautiful Appledore Island followed by a private tour and lunch with UNH students.
Roughly 100 acres in size, Appledore Island is one of the 9 Isles of Shoals located off the Maine/New Hampshire coast and the location of UNH’s Shoals Marine Laboratory - the largest field research facility dedicated to undergraduate research in the world.
Tour Highlights include...
- Visit at the marine lab to observe marine organisms
- View and learn about the leading edge sustainable energy facilities
- Trek to rock formations that reveal the island’s geological past
- Visit the restored garden of renowned 19th Century poet and essayist, Celia Thaxter.
