Description

You know, when the weather turns cooler and the beach is no longer an option, a terrific way to spend the day is strolling around a good museum.  Here are four admission passes to The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.  That's a chance for you and three worthy people to see the terrific exhibits at the Peabody Essex -- a chance, by the way, you should not pass up.

Take in Yin Yu Tang, an 18th century Chinese merchant's house transported from China and reassembled on the museum grounds.  This package also includes a private tour of the upcoming exhibition Native Fashion Now, which will be on view from Nov. 21 through March 6 of next year.  It features nearly 100 works by contemporary Native fashion designers and artists.

If you get to this fascinating place before mid-January, you can see Strandbeest, The Dream Machines of Theo Jansen.  These are kinetic structures that are part robot, part art, and all amazing.  Whenever you get to the museum, there will be something to catch your eye and inspire your mind.

"There are many reasons to come to PEM. Sometimes, looking at a work of art with someone special by your side is all the motivation you need. Sitting in the light-filled Atrium, having lunch outside in the Garden Restaurant, watching the expression on a child's face as she makes a collage — each experience is worth the trip. PEM is the place to come for enjoyment, enrichment, sharing with family and friends, and creative stimulation."Dan L. Monroe
