Description

Lucy Rubin was chosen by Dan's Papers - Long Island's famous East-End and Hamptons news, arts and culture publication - to be its "Featured Artist." Her painting of "Main Beach, East Hampton" NY, where she spends much of her time, graced the front page.

The Dan's Paper article and interview with Lucy in which she explains her art, approach, inspirations, life (a creative family that works on tv, Broadway and with Billy Joel!) and spiritualism here!! Lucy is proud to be part of this auction and climate change movement to save the natural beauty, brilliant animals and beaches that surround her daily - the inspiration and subjects of her art, those things which inspire her.

Likening her to Grandma Moses, Dan's Papers chose "Main Beach" for its cover to celebrate "Aunt Lu's" artistic vibrant, nostalgic, and realilst style, saying "These qualities are on joyful display in this week’s cover art." Lucy's talent, imagination, limitless excitement and contagious energy is certainly channeled into this intricate, colourful workAs a bright, action-filled painting, its style is quite different than her other works she has so generously donated to the auction.

In this folksy piece, one must examine this striking full-of-life picture to reveal all the special details, active people engaged in diverse "stories," and bold aspects of her realism. The article says some of Lucy's artistic secrets were cropped out, but WE know Lucy well - and we know a few were not. THE NAKED LADY IS THERE! (Can you find her?)
