Description
Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of Buddhist, Bon and meditation practice. Today they are used worldwide for meditation, relaxation, healthcare and religious practice.
Singing bowls are played by striking with a mallet to produce a warm bell tone and harmonic overtones. They may also be played by the friction of rubbing a wooden mallet around the rim of the bowl to produce a continuous singing sound.

This piece, along with other artwork offered in our auction, will be on display and available for purchase at our Auction Art Night on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Monona State Bank on Atwood Avenue in Madison. You’ll be able to see the art up close and meet some of the artists. RSVP’s are requested.
Special Instructions
The bowl is made of bronze, an alloy of copper, tin and other metals from Nepal.
Winning bidder may notify River Alliance by Tuesday, December 8th that they would like to pick this item up from the River Alliance office. Otherwise, it will be shipped USPS priority mail and winning bidder will be charged $8 for shipping at auction close.
