Description

Accompany Daniel Einstein, historic and cultural resources manager for UW-Madison, on a walking tour of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve on the UW-Madison campus. Discover the fascinating and little known human history of Frautschi Point and Picnic Point on the shores of Lake Mendota.

From ancient Indian burial mounds, to long gone farmsteads and summer cottages, to unfufilled plans for a major residential development, this natural area offers one of the Madison area's most interesting rambles.

In addition to his focus on UW-Madison history, Daniel has led architecture tours for the Madison Trust For Historic Preservation and the Aldo Leopold Foundation.

Special Instructions

You and a few friends will go on the walking tour which will last around 2 hours. Must be scheduled on an evening or weekend during summer, 2016.  Donor will schedule directly with winning bidder.
