Description
Own a historic crystal lighting fixture from the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre
The Shubert Organization’s historic Royale Theatre was built in 1927 on West 45th Street, considered to be the most desirable street in the Broadway theatre district. The Royale’s first production was the musical Piggy, followed by a season of revivals of Gilbert and Sullivan’s beloved operettas, including The Pirates of Penzance. Dozens of award-winning productions followed including The Glass Menagerie, The Matchmaker, The Boyfriend, Grease, Song and Dance, Lend Me a Tenor and Art.
In 2005, the theatre was renamed the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in honor of the president of The Shubert Organization who had passed away in 1996. During the recent renovation of the theatre, crystal lighting fixtures that had been in place for decades were replaced. Now this matching pair can be yours.
These flush mount fixtures are 18” high, 10” wide and 5” deep with a mirrored backplate, draped with more than 150 gleaming Swarovski crystals hung from molded brass. The crystals are original to the piece.
Fill your home with the warm glow of this vintage theatre sconce. View stunning interior photos of the Royale, now Jacobs Theatre in The Shuberts Present: 100 Years of American Theatre, a coffee table book published by Abrams.
