Description

Three bottles of 2013 Hog Wash Rose California - Tuck Beckstoffer.

Andy Beckstoffer moved his family from Virginia to the Napa Valley in 1975 and embarked on a career that has been rivaled by few.  The magnitude of his vineyard holdings and his overall contribution to the importance of the valley are awesome.  Andy’s son Tuck embarked on his quest in 1997, adopted the Seventy Five Wine Company name in 2000 and like his father, has steadily put together the blocks of success.  One of the many challenges facing rosé is its name, and Tuck says Hogwash!  The lighthearted pink wine possesses superb body, reminiscent of a light red wine with a persistent, beautifully concentrated finish. Hogwash was created as an infinitely quaffable by-product of some of his more serious reds.  For this delightful wine, Grenache grapes from two different vineyards were picked early, crushed, left on the red skins until bright hues had developed and then cold fermented.  The color here is between pink and peach, with fresh aromas of cherries, grapefruit and pears.  Nicely balanced, with a crisp, mouthwatering entry and a long finish and aftertaste.  Flavors of  passion fruit, pineapple and guava.  Lovely drinking all the way.
