Description
Two bottles of 2010 B. R. Cohn Chardonnay, Silver Label, North Coast.
Bruce (B. R.) Cohn grew up in Sonoma County, managed the Doobie Brothers for years, purchased the Olive Hill Estate Vineyards in the Russian River Valley and in 1984 founded the B. R. Cohn winery. Helen Turley was his first winemaker, then Merry Edwards, then Steve MacRostie, and now Tom Montgomery. In addition to producing superlative wines, Bruce has introduced highly praised olive oils and vinegars, and has established an immensely popular Fall Music Festival that raises substantial funds for local charities. He is widely applauded for the range of his achievements. This is a beautiful Chardonnay. 50% was aged sur lie for one year in French oak. Deep golden color. Pears, apples, citrus. Lovely full, ripe, crisp entry. Rich. Fruit laden. Lovely mid-palate. Food friendly. Green apple and lemon. Toasty oak, vanilla and hazelnuts. Long, crisp finish and aftertaste. Delightful drinking. And another winner.
