Description
One case 2010 Heliodoro Chardonnay - Russian River Valley - Sonoma County.
Veteran winemaker Michael Draxton formed Draxton Wines in Healdsburg in 1995, after developing his skills at Schramsberg, Geyser Peak and Canyon Road. The vineyards for this Draxton brand were formed by the Buena Tierra Family of Vineyards. Heliodoro is a Greek term that means “gift of the sun” and this brand was named in honor of their vineyard manager, Heliodoro Lopez, who tended their vineyards for nearly four decades. This Chardonnay went through 100% malolactic fermentation that created a creamy, buttery taste profile and mouth feel. It was aged in neutral French oak for six months, which highlights the fruit. Aromas of pears, green apple and apricot, with flavors of apple, apricot, pears, pineapple and vanilla. A remarkable wine, and incredible value.
