Get ready for an amazing day set in the beautiful outdoors of the Elk Neck State Forest in North East, MD where you and one guest will receive personal instruction from an NRA Certified Range Officer & Pistol Instructor on a wide selection firearms ranging from the diminutive .22 up to the venerable 7.62x51 in a stress free environment. This range day is all about you and tailored to what you would like to learn to improve your skills and build your confidence.

Maybe you’re a first time firearm owner. Maybe you’ve given thought to becoming one but didn’t know how to get the training you needed to be a responsible gun owner. If this applies to you… you’ll want to bid on this auction.

If you are already a knowledgeable firearm owner and just want to have a blast shooting a wide variety of interesting firearms… shooting some free ammo and then not having to worry about cleaning anything afterwards… we got you covered too.

• Includes two free day passes. (for you and a guest normally $10 each). You can bring as many additional people as you like but each person over 16 must provide for their own day pass.

• Eye and ear protection provided for you and your guest.

• Up to three hours of instruction and range time.  Starting at 9:00am (we could go longer if we aren’t ready to call it a day). Its situational dependent based on the shooters skill level but we will discuss range rules, the fundamentals rules for firearm safety, how to clear and make safe, loading procedures, marksmanship and much, much more culminating in sending live rounds down range. Complete novices are welcome.

• Your choice of firearm. You don’t even have to be a current firearm owner! You get to choose from several firearms that I will provide or bring what you would like your safety training and range day be based on.

Possible choices include: .22 Ruger MkII , Sig/S&W/ Berretta 9mm’s, .40 Glock, or .45 1911 handguns.  Rifle choices range from 5.56 AR series, 7.62x39 AK pattern, or .30 cal  FN FAL rifles.

• Ammunition is included. 

  (3) boxes of rifle ammo or (1) box of handgun ammo $30

  It’s highly encouraged that you pick up a few additional boxes on your own once you decide what you’ll be shooting on this day.

• Target stands, targets, and misc. range supplies will be provided. You just need yourself, a guest if you choose, and a good safety mindset for a great day at the range! I recommend also bringing water and dressing with the appropriate layers for whatever the weather may bring at that time.

A little bit about me. I am currently a NRA certified Range Safety Officer at Elk Neck State Forest. I spent eight years in the Maryland Army National Guard as a Reconnaissance Scout (19D). I deployed to southern Iraq in 2008 in support of Operational Iraqi Freedom with the additional qualification of being a Squad Designated Marksman during that time. I have twenty years plus of firearms training and experience going back to the 1990’s receiving my first certification thru the Del Tech Community College for Firearms Proof of Proficiency and later also becoming certified as a NRA certified Pistol Instructor & Range Officer. I am currently AED/CPR and First Aid trained thru the American Red Cross and Combat Life Saver trained during my time in the military.
