Description
Come join Teacher Ursula Machado, and her childhood friend, and colleague, Victoria Murray, for a healthy dinner and a movie at Parker School. Treat yourself to a date night, too! Not only will we provide the children the dinner, but they will help prepare it! Children learning how to cook can be a fun way for them to try new foods and get involved with the process of cooking.
When: Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 from 3:30-7:30PM
Where: Parker School’s Gourmet Kitchen
Who: Up to twelve children. We'll break into two small groups during the cooking process.
What: We’ll reach out to the parents to determine any allergy/diet restrictions, then build our menu from there. We’ll feature a movie, an art project to design our menu, and, of course, free-play.
About Victoria: Ursula and Victoria met when they were nine years old in the third grade and have since remained friends/soul sisters. Victoria has a tremendous passion for working with children focusing on Holistic Wellness. She received a Children’s Yoga certification in 2014 while living in Boston at Inner Strength studio and began to integrate more holistic wellness philosophies into her practice with children. Currently, Victoria is a part-time certified preschool teacher at City Kids in Russian Hill with Ms. Astrid, Ursula’s sister and former Fabretto Foundation volunteer in Nicaragua. Victoria concurrently works with Leah’s Pantry, a nonprofit organization who’s mission is to promote healthier lives through nutritional cooking programs.
