The amazing 2012 boasts a deep ruby color as well as a sweet perfume of black cherries, damp earth, forest floor, new saddle leather, and raspberries. Rich and medium to full-bodied with a floral component in addition to some tannins in the finish, the result is a slight compression and edginess to the wine as it finishes. It appears to need more time but should hit its apogee in 7-8 years and last 25 or more. RP:98; WS:91; ST:93
