Description

This unique opportunity provides a high-school junior with a tailored volunteer experience for the summer with the highly regarded education non-profit Teach For America (TFA). TFA recruits and develops outstanding college graduates and professionals to make an initial two-year commitment to teach in high-need schools and become lifelong leaders in the movement to end educational inequity. The volunteer will gain a close-up view of the operations of a non-profit and the education reform movement. Responsibilities can last 2 to 4 weeks and may include assisting with the placement of incoming teachers within the fourth largest school district in the country, working on projects related to teacher professional development, or supporting alumni initiatives such as summer internships for teachers with education technology start-ups.

Special Instructions

Student intern must currently be in grade 10 or higher and in good standing. All interns will be required to meet with the contact person prior to the start of the internship to discuss the employer's expectations, dates, dress code, responsibilities/obligations, etc. Ransom Everglades community only.
