Helen Rosenthal is a New York City Council Member representing Manhattan’s Upper West Side, District 6. Elected to the City Council in 2013, Helen’s vote total in the general election was the highest of any candidate running for City Council in New York City. She is recognized as a strong advocate for public schools, affordable housing, gender equality and economic empowerment.

Helen is the Chair of the Contracts Committee, and she serves on the following Committees: Finance; Housing and Buildings; Education; Cultural Affairs, Libraries, and Intergroup Relations; and Oversight and Investigations. She is also a member of the Council’s 12 member Budget Negotiating Team (BNT) and a Co-Chair of the Women’s Caucus.
