DCIFF was launched in 1999 to nurture independent film. As the oldest independent film festival in Washington, DCIFF has a storied history of presenting extraordinary films. It has showcased cutting-edge features, shorts and documentaries on every subject from every country with every budget and subject imaginable.

This year's closing night features a conversation with French-American actor/director Jean-Marc Barr. It will be a review of Jean-Marc Barr’s approach to film over many years, from when he began working with Luc Besson and Lars Von Trier to becoming a director in his own right. He is known for his work on The Big Blue, Breaking the Waves, Europa, Dogville, Nymphomaniac, and Big Sur, among others.

Tickets include the closing night Awards party with wine, beer, cheese, and music by G-Shift Productions.
