The
Kreeger Museum, a private, non-profit art museum located in the former residence of David and Carmen Kreeger, and set within five and one-half acres of sculpture-filled gardens and tranquil woods. Designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson, it is among the few examples of his work in D.C.
The Kreeger's focus on 19th and 20th century paintings can be seen through works by Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, Chagall, Miró, and Stella, along with prominent Washington artists. Also included in the collection are outstanding examples of traditional African and Asian art.
Special Instructions
Tuesday through Thursday: Reservations required for admittance; guests must sign up for the 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. ninety-minute, docent-guided tour.
Friday and Saturday: Open Hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No reservations needed. Optional guided tours are given throughout the day.
The Museum is closed Sundays, Mondays, and the month of August through Labor Day.
