Description

Take this chance to explore the historic Volta Bureau located on Volta Place in Georgetown! This is where Alexander Graham Bell kept his research library relating to his lifelong commitment as a teacher for the Deaf.

After Helen Keller broke ground on the site in 1893, the Volta Bureau, a U.S. National Historic Landmark, has served as the home of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing since 1899. An approximate one-hour guided tour (for up to 10 people) will be followed by a lunch or snacks (depending on timing).

An excellent opportunity for children to learn about Dr. Bell, his inventions, and his work with deaf students.
