Description
Social Thinking Friendship Groups give children opportunities to work as teams to problem solve open-ended challenges such as bridge building, package design to protect an egg, or writing and performing original skits about characters who are clueless about social skills.
Simultaneously, children build social confidence through role-play, discussion, and teachable moments, as they explore the nuance of social communication.
The social skills they experience include:
Entering a new group
Making and Keeping friends
Conversation strategies
Reading body language
Communicating through body language
Leading without Bossing
Sharing without Bragging
Listening so others can talk
