Lite Light always brought excitement to the track, and not just because she was owned by rap singer M.C. Hammer. She had a fondness for oak, as evident by her victories in the Oak Leaf Stakes in 1990, the Santa Anita Oaks, Kentucky Oaks and Coaching Club American Oaks as a three-year-old in 1991. Her victory in the Coaching Club came at the expense of her nemesis Meadow Star. It was a record-setting performance and denied Meadow Star New York's "Triple Tiara."
