Item Description:
"Threshhold" - 32 1/2 x 44 machine pieced and quilted by Denise Rocheleau Nordberg. This quilt was made as a study quilt. The original is a late nineteenth century quilt owned by quilt historian Barbara Brackman. The name "Threshhold" comes from the construction design. The fabric blocks are surrounded by sashings which include white pieces that, when sewn together, make stars. So the design is in the threshold of the block. Reproduction period fabric was used and the simple machine quilting is also typical of the period.
