The Abbey is one of Washington Square's favorite restaurants from Chef Josh Sherman and bartender Damian Dowling, both of the Washington Square Tavern.

"The Abbey is a welcoming, cozy bar with delicious comfort food, a drink list featuring some fine cocktails and beer selections, and excellent customer service.  The Abbey is a small space and does not take reservations -- expect to wait a few minutes before being seated, even during the middle of the week.  The friendliness of the bar staff, however, actually made our wait for a table enjoyable.
I ordered the lobster mac n' cheese, on special, for my entree.  It was delicious.  The drinks list was also on-point -- the Abbey features some great craft beers on-tap, and has a well-chosen bottle list.  The service was excellent.  Our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic, but in a genuine, non-invasive way."
