Antique Bar Billiards Table

Description
This English Mahagony Bar Billards table was purchased at a Sothebys auction in Amsterdam in 2002 and was originally owned by Sir David Niven, the actor, for use in his Switzerland chalet. Bar Billiards is a historic game, widely thought to be based on bagatelle, the same game that spawned modern pinball tables. This particular antique table was originally produced by Sams Brothers, one of the first companies to begin selling the tables, and one of the finest Bar Billiards manufacturers in the world. Far more than a table, the Sams Bar Billiards is an icon; a historic game from one of the most significant portions of British history. The product is a conduit for a game that was born when the British still controlled an empire that spanned a fifth of the globe. Its age and quality enhances its worth as a form of entertainment by giving it an extra historical value. Played from one end and relatively small in size, this game table is perfect for smaller spaces.
Size: 34.5 inches wide, by 6 feet long. 3 feet tall, the scoreboard adds another 7 inches in height. It includes cues, balls and score board. We have the original Sothebys catalogue from purchase.
