Description

Every year, David Arthur Elevation has the opportunity to take the best of the best grapes and let them stand by themselves—they call this Elevation 1147. Elevation 1147 is always 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and a core percentage comes from the same block each year. The wine style is that of no other from David Arthur in that the structure is massive and full palate. The name Elevation 1147 comes from their location high atop Pritchard Hill. Their 2013 Elevation is a massive wine with a dense, deep ruby color, offering aromas of spicy brambled, baked fruit of blackberry and currant that transition to earth driven aromatics of forest-wet soil, cocoa nibs, and spice tones like wild sage/bay laurel, bergamot/black tea, and hints of cedar. The palate is rich, broad, and fleshy with a seductively fine grain, yet rigidly built texture finishing with baked cherry, licorice candy, and persistence. This six liter bottle with 92 points is the equivalent of 8 bottles and should pour about 40 glasses.  It is definitely a party in a bottle!
