"Seashells" by Barbara Conviser, 9" x 9"

My drawings are witness to my life, and they form a diary of places I have seen and admired. Through them, I have tried to capture a spirit more than depict exact detail. The first step in my process is to photograph a location from various angles. I pin the photos to a wall in my studio and use them as a touch point for my interpretation of the scene. The drawings are worked on 200 pound (heavy weight) paper, using charcoal and pastels.
