ARTescape’s mission is to provide a vibrant, stimulating place where the diverse population of Sonoma Valley can gather to discover and explore their creative potential.  Through quality art experiences, we offer participants affordable opportunities to cultivate a greater multi-cultural awareness and build strong community connections.

ARTescape  was founded by five dynamic, creative and committed women: Janis Kobe, Gayle Manfre, Penny MacNaughton, Kate Ortolano and Thena Trygstad. Their goal – to create a welcoming venue for art teachers and students of the greater Sonoma area and to nurture and expand the importance of fine arts and crafts in enhancing our education and lives.

ARTescape  provides:

• Art and craft classes, at low or no cost, in a supportive environment that encourages and expands creative expression.


• A well-equipped space that Sonoma Valley professional artists may rent to hold classes, workshops and lectures.


• Mentors and Teachers who encourage and support Sonoma Valley youth to pursue careers in the fine arts.
