The Mad River Valley boasts what no other ski resort area in New England can: three top-shelf ski areas all within a few miles of each other. They are strung like pearls between Lincoln Gap and Appalachian Gap along the spine of the Green Mountains (gaps are a “Vermont thing” meaning a pass over the mountains).
