Description

Inspired by the recent exhibit "Looking East" at the Asian Art Museum, the students learned about the influence of Japanese art on Western artists such as Monet and Van Gogh.

The student work is sketched in pencil and painted in watercolor to reflect the bridge compositions found in Japanese prints.

The finished piece is mounted on mat board covered with Japanese patterned fabric chosen by the student. The finished piece is reminiscent of a Japanese screen or scroll.

Finished size 11X14 suitable for framing

Only ONE piece available from each student.

Photos shown are SAMPLE projects done by students.
