Enjoy this collection of 8 California red and white varietals, including:
- 2012 Dry Creek Endeavor (valued at $58). The Endeavour Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the finest red wines produced at Dry Creek Vineyard. This new vintage is simply stunning. At first swirl, the aromatics are enticing with high-toned, perfume aromas and a wonderful dark cherry complexity. Additional airing reveals nuanced spicy characters and dried floral notes typical to the Dry Creek Valley appellation. On the palate, elegant flavors of dark cherry, espresso, sweet vanilla and wet earth mingle with enticing rose petal, cranberry, blueberry, oregano and sage. The mouth filling complexity and completeness last from start to finish with smooth-textured tannins and a persistent lingering finish. Blend: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. WS90: "Shows Bordeaux-like inspiration, exhibiting restraint and austerity, but amid the dusty, earth- and gravel-tinged tannins is a juicy core of dark berry fruit. Ends with a kiss of cedary oak. Drink now through 2029." Donated by the Dimitre/Brunetti Family.
- Stag’s Leap Petite Sirah 2012 (valued at $33). Elegant, fresh and refined, the Napa Valley Petite Sirah opens with generous aromas of red and black fruit and distinct notes of clove spice. The lush fruit flavors of blueberry, raspberry and boysenberry remain on the palate, complemented by unbelievably soft tannins that add grace without removing any vitality. Subtle hints of vanilla and white pepper linger at the finish of this big, yet approachable Petite Sirah. Critical Acclaim RP92 The Wine Advocate - "A fabulous wine, the 2012 Petite Sirah was co-fermented with 1% Viognier, and includes 12% Syrah, 8% Grenache and 2% Carignan in the blend. Beautiful aromas of lavender, acacia flowers, blueberries, black raspberries, licorice and graphite emerge from this full-bodied, rich Petite Sirah. While approachable because of the vintage’s sweet tannins, it will age easily for 15-20 years." Donated by Sandra Li.
- Carneros Creek Pinot Noir 2014 (valued at $30). Ruby red color with cherries and pomegranate on the nose. Nice body and fruit-forward palate with black cherry, raspberries, spice and a hint of caramel. Long finish with smooth tannins and spice. Excellent with savory veal chops. (2012 vintage). Donated by the Konishi-Gray Family.
- ZD Wines Chardonnay 2014 (valued at $34). The 2014 Chardonnay highlights our commitment to artfully blending for richness, intensity and balance from long-term vineyard partners in Carneros, Monterey, and Santa Barbara counties. The wine is aged for 10 months in 100% American oak barrels which contributes to the richness and complexity of the wine. Aromas of juicy pineapple, guava and lemon zest mingle with notes of sweet vanilla and honeysuckle. The palate is round, full bodied and boasts a core of bright tropical fruit that is balanced beautifully by natural acidity. Donated by the Gorelik/Pelton Family.
- Walt Cellars Pinot Noir 2014 (valued at $40). Ultimately, the WALT "Blue Jay" possesses delicacy, finesse and length, the calling card of great Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. The WALT "Blue Jay" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is complex and ethereal, with concentrated blueberry, lavender, and wet stone on the nose. Full and rich on the palate, with broad and powerful tannin. Warm, spicy oak (nutmeg) leads into flavors of blackberry jam, white pepper, and freshly turned earth. Critical Acclaim: WE93 Wine Enthusiast - "A full-bodied, well-polished and nicely oaky wine with a smooth and full texture. Flavors are ripe and fruity and laced with vanilla, maple and toasted bread nuances. Vibrant acidity pairs with firm tannins to keep it mouthwatering on the finish." Critical acclaim: Wine Enthusiast: 93/100; Cellar Tracker: 91/100; Wine Spectator: 88/100. Donated by the Yahiro/Hillis Family.
- Provenance Rutherford Cabernet 2013 (valued at $30). Winemaker's Notes: Our Rutherford Cabernet exhibits the gorgeous terroir expression inherent in the appellation with amplification from the superb 2012 growing season. Blackberry and cassis melds with subtle mint, mocha and violet in the aromas and flavors. Hints of hazelnut from the toasted French oak barrel linger on the dark chocolate finish. Donated by the Tran Family.
- 2011 Tyge Williams Sauvignon Blanc (Yountville) (2 bottles!) (valued between $20 and $30). Mysterious sauvignon blanc from Napa Valley. Very little information available about this small winery, named after the owners’ first born son, in Napa Valley. Give it a try! Donated by the Hiestand Family.
