Brothers Alon and Jacob Cohen are excited to bring to you the food they love in their new venture, Meme Mediterranean. Chef Jacob Cohen's experience is a culinary trip around the Mediterranean.  In addition to the influence of his mother's Maghreb cooking, he trained in France and Israel.  His kitchen credits in New York include top restaurants Gotham Bar and Grill & Hosteria Fiorella where he was chef.  Alon joined Jacob in New York to help manage Virage in the East Village after extensive restaurant experience in Tel Aviv. 

Spices are important in Mediterranean cooking and the paprika you taste at Meme Mediterranean is made from red bell peppers grown on a small Moshav, or farming cooperative outside of the Cohen's hometown where "Meme" (their mother) oversees the sun-drying and grinding.
