Description
American Jerusalem: Jews and the Making of San Francisco is the epic story of the pioneering Jews of San Francisco, their rise to prominence, and how, freed from discrimination, they reinvented themselves as a distinctly new kind of Jew: they weren't just American Jews—they were San Francisco Jews.
The production of American Jerusalem is a true collaboration: of filmmakers; historians, especially Frances Dinkelspiel, Fred Rosenbaum, and Ava Kahn; descendants of the original San Francisco Jewish pioneers; a number of private and public archives—and everyone who has fallen in love with the city of San Francisco.
Come out and experience this inspiring and invigorating documentary in the company of producer and EB parent Camille Servan-Schreiber at the residence of Emma & Eric Gimmon. Documentary screening will be followed by a Q&A with Camille. Champagne and dessert provided.
