Description

Inspiration:  "We shall walk together on this path of life, for all things are a part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.”

Inspired by Matisse’s paper collages, the Sequoia room played with color and shape and created a piece of art that celebrates both  individuality and the Sequoia room group spirit.  Using Matisse’s Japanese Mask, Icarus and Le Lanceur de Couteaux as inspiration, each child chose their color and cut their shape. The third year students set the foundation with larger pieces, and the second-and-first year students filled in with medium and small shapes. Together, they placed the images to create balance, harmony and interestingness.
