Description

Freemark Abbey Fiftieth Reserve

2013 Spring Mountain District, Napa Valley

Super Bowl 50 Commemorative Bottle

Fiftieth Reserve is the first and only commemorative Super Bowl 50 wine. Freemark Abbey along with one of the region’s leading winemakers, Ted Edwards, were selected to create a one-of-a-kind, limited release to honor the landmark NFL event. Fiftieth Reserve is a 2013 Napa Valley Bordeaux-style red wine, sourced from pedigreed single vineyard sites from the venerable Spring Mountain.

Tasting Notes:

Opaque depth of red ruby color, Fiftieth Reserve expresses rich, dark fruit aromas composed of dark cherry, Bay leaf and dried herbs. On the palate, ripe boysenberry and Santa Rosa plum are complemented by a milk chocolate nuance from well-integrated spicy oak. The velvety tannins lead to a long finish and speak to this wine’s immense ageability. Drink now or enjoy for up to 20 years.

Wine Profile:

Varietals:  67% Merlot, 14.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 5.7% Petit Verdot
Aging:  Aged in premium French oak barrels for 18 months
Alcohol:  14.5%
