Description
This beautiful piece was created by Thomas Herr who has had a passion for fly fishing and tying for over 45 years. His work includes projects completed for the benefit of the American Cancer Society, Project Healing Waters, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Global Hunger Relief Fund. His work has been featured in the Classic Angling Magazine as well as other articles related to artistic tying.
What was originally meant to be a gift to his wife who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer – she wishes that this piece be part of this effort to benefit Casting For Recovery.
This artistic classic salmon fly pattern is tied in the delta style - with wings built and attached both on the top and also the bottom of the hook shank. The materials that went into this tie include:
- Hook: 7/0 Harrison/Bartleet blind eye hook. Powder coated pink
- Dyed white turkey tail
- Silver tinsel and ribbing
- Japanese silk floss
- White Hen Saddle feathers
The size of the frame is 10 1/2" wide by 19 1/2" high. The high quality frame is made of silver embossed wood. The glass is museum quality glass which protects the inside materials from UV deterioration.
