Description
Located in Lexington downtown's Historic Western Suburb, one of Lexington's oldest downtown neighborhoods. Several houses date back to 1806, and at least one to the 1790's.
Ballard Street, where we are located, is one block long and runs parallel to and in between West Short and West Second Streets. It intersects with Old Georgetown on the west end, and Jefferson Street on the east end. it is surrounded by four busier streets; but Ballard is really quiet.
Guests staying on Ballard Street are 1/2 block from the Jefferson Street restaurant area, with seven unique, local restaurants located in the block of Jefferson between Short and Second. Plus many more within a 10 minute walk. Also, Lexington Center - with its Heritage Hall and Rupp Arena - is located within that 10 minute walk. The Mary Todd Lincoln house-museum is in the same area. Also close by are art galleries, and antique shops. The Little House is 13 minutes (6 miles) from the Keeneland Racetrack, 16 minutes (8 miles) to the Kentucky Horse Park, and 1.5 miles to the University of Kentucky.
