Amate bark paper art is an ancient form of folk art in Mexico with a rich past dating back to pre-Hispanic times. It is made from the bark of the ficus tree, and was used by the Aztecs as gifts to warriors or royalty, and used in religious ceremonies. They make beautiful wall hangings.
