Description

This beautiful item is a 20th century Mexican solid amethyst stone carved into an Olmec Head mask. The Olmec Heads are seventeen monumental stone representations of human heads sculpted from large basalt boulders found in Mexico. The heads date from at least before 900 BC and are a distinctive feature of the Olmec civilization of ancient Mesoamerica. It measures 4.5" wide.
