Description

This absolutley stunning piece of art can be conveniently used as a sashimi platter, making your next party an upscale event. This fused glass art plate's design has been created from pieces of glass that have been fired in a kiln at a range of high temperatures. It has an almost three dimensional crackle to it bringing to mind a lava lake as the crust breaks up. Measuring 8"x8" inches, it is signed and dated by the local Hawaii artist, Barry Gitelson.

Musings from Barry: Inspiration comes in many forms and sometimes at the least expected moments. I find myself staring at the shelves of glass just enjoying the colors and textures while thinking about the whats and the hows of the next project. Sometimes the internal light shines and the ideas flow and other times there is nothing. The beauty of the island is constantly on my mind and often directs me towards creativity. The volcano, the ocean and the flora call me. Sometimes it is just the pure joy of coming with a crazy fun idea that drives me to try something new just for the fun of it.
