In Greek Mythology, a Phoenix is a long-lived bird that is cyclically reborn. Associated with the sun, a Phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. This rebirth symbolizes the transition that our wounded, ill, and injured service members make during their assignment to the Battalion.
