The Los Angeles Sparks celebrate its historic 20th season in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) in the summer of 2016.  One of three original teams from the league’s inaugural campaign in 1997, Los Angeles won back-to-back WNBA Championships in 2001 and 2002. Owned by an investment group led by Magic Johnson and Mark R. Walter, the Sparks are led on the court by two-time WNBA MVP Candace Parker and WNBA All-Stars Nneka Ogwumike,  Kristi Toliver and Jantel Lavender.   Sparks home games are played at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles.
