High Performance Racing Sailboat Adventure

Item Number: 252
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
Join Greg Whiffen, Waverly parent, for a sailing adventure on an International Flying Dutchman racing sailboat. Don't confuse this with a mellow cruise on a large boat! The Flying Dutchman is a 6 meter long, very light weight and responsive boat that spent 30 years as an Olympic class. The boat is highly technical (meaning more than 1 kilometer of control lines!)—but don't worry, no previous sailing experience is necessary—just a willingness for adventure. Your skipper will guide you through the necessary maneuvers. You can choose to wear a harness and ride the trapeze. Given the right winds, you will have a very fast (and possibly wet) ride. See pictures. We will supply a shore lunch. Diane can babysit up to 3 kids while you enjoy your ride. We can accommodate up to about three people trading off riding one at a time. We can supply life jackets, trapeze harnesses, sailing gloves, and a few other essentials. You will need to bring water bottles, sun screen etc. Please call Greg at 626-296-0611 to arrange your sailing adventure and go over the necessary equipment to bring. The venue and the targeted wind strength can be tailored to your desires. Alternate dates will need to be mutually agreed upon to make sure conditions are right.
April 2016 to November 2016.
