Description

Upper school Spanish teacher and rabbit breeder Laura Chuquin-Naylor has donated this Flemish Giant/American Chinchilla mix rabbit.

These beautiful babies have the soft fur of the Chinchilla and the large ears of the Flemish. Their ears are their temperature regulators, keeping them cool in hot weather. They will be large rabbits, weighing between 10 and 14 pounds, with a life span of 5 to 8 years. They are calm, friendly, inquisitive, good-natured rabbits and make wonderful indoor and outdoor pets.

They get along well with our cats, dogs, and chickens! Rabbits are very social animals and need to interact with their human family. They will need a large cage, big enough for them to hop and stretch out in, and should be let out for daily exercise and playtime.  They can be walked on a leash, although walking consists of going where they want to go, not where you plan to go!  They need plenty of fresh water and eat commercial rabbit pellets, leafy green vegetables with an occasional carrot, and alfalfa hay changing to Timothy hay after 6 months.

Mrs. Chuquin-Naylor will be happy to follow up with you on any questions that may arise as your bunny grows.
