Leather Spaniel Checkbook Cover

Item Number: 215
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
This hand-tooled leather checkbook cover is tan with black lacing along the edges and features a tan Spaniel image over a black background patch on left corner. This work of art is also practical as is holds a standard checkbook and register. Completely hand made of 100% genuine leather (lacing, too) Hava Hegenbarth provides high quality, handmade leather goods and takes pride in her workmanship and art.
Special Instructions
Hand tooling of leather involves first scribing a design on wet leather with a stylus. While the leather is still damp, the design is then carved into the leather with a sharp knife. Then a series of small tools are used to punch down, lift up and otherwise “sculpt” the design to give it a 3-D effect. Once the leather is dry, dyes are applied to bring a life-like appearance to the design. A leather varnish is then applied to protect the work.
