A private, 1.5 hour session at your house or my studio in Brooklyn. Ashtanga asana is a set series of yoga postures that are linked together using the breath, a system called vinyasa. For each movement, there is one breath. Ashtanga yoga has 8 limbs (Yama – ethics, Niyama – self-discipline, Asana – physical posture, Pranayama – breathing technique to extend life force, Pratyahara – withdrawal of the 5 senses inward, Dharana – focus and concentration, Dhyana – meditation, Samadhi – complete absorption). Practicing Ashtanga yoga with the correct method can purify the body, mind and nervous system.
