Silver Oak 1997 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 1997 is a wine of extraordinary intensity and depth. It has a very dark garnet color and a concentrated nose of cassis, roasting coffee, chocolate, violets and sandalwood. It is extremely rich on the palate, with a full body and a long, fruity intense finish. This cabernet is ready to drink now and can use decanting to allow it to open up for at least an hour before drinking.

Silver Oak 1998 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine displays a dark ruby color and a complex nose of cassis, coffee, cocoa, and allspice. It is rich and full on the palate with a long, fruit-filled finish. 

This was a vintage when Mother Nature tested us a bit,  but Silver Oak has risen to the challenge and has produced a Bordeaux style blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and petit Verdot. This is an elegant, rich wine with smooth, fully developed characters.  This is ready to drink now.

The 1999 Silver Oak is a classic, rich Cabernet Sauvignon with a dark, ruby color and a complex nose of cassis, blueberries, cherries, nutmeg, chocolate and sandalwood. It is luscious and full-bodied on the palate and has a long, fruit-laden finish reminiscent of licorice. Drink between 2005-2017.

Silver Oak 2001 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2001 is a profound and powerful wine with great finnesse. It has a deep, garnet color and a concentrated nose of cassis, chocolate, cloves, nutmeg and vanilla. The wine illustrates great depth and balance on the palate, with a sweet core of cassis fruit and a long finish bursting of berries and dark chocolate. Tannins are still evolving, so this wine will continue to improve through 2026 given proper cellaring.

Silver Oak 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, profound wine that beautifully balances concentration with finesse. It has a dark, ruby color and aromas of blackberry jam, soy sauce, violets and dark chocolate, with hints of cedar and cinnamon. The first impression in the mouth is one of smoothness and roundness. The wine offers a seamless, harmonious progression of fruit, chocolate and black tea tones, leading to an extremely long finish with supple tannins and echoes of berry fruit. Properly cellared, it should provide drinking pleasure until 2027.
