Flute coach JESSI SPIKE GRAVELLE has been active as a music educator and music school owner and director for over 20 years in the Santa Monica area. She is currently a full-time elementary music teacher for SMMUSD, specializing in voice and flute. Jessi is also the proud co-owner and director of the Santa Monica Academy of Music, a community music school she founded with her husband in 1997. She still maintains a studio at the Academy, and her flute students have participated in many Stairway to the Stars honor groups, MTAC Certificate of Merit, and various honor recitals. Jessi studied piano with Ms. Yong Hi Moon at Michigan State University, and with Dr. Ick Choo Moon at UCLA, where she earned her B.A. She also holds an M.A. in English from California State University Northridge.
