Maketewah Country Club was founded in 1910 and stands as one of Greater Cincinnati's premier private clubs.  The stately and elegant clubhouse was completed in 1930 and serves as the social center for Maketewah's ongoing and supportive multi-generational and diverse membership.  "Maketewah" was the original Native American name for the Mill Creek area prior to the 1790's.  It was derived from the Shawnee term "Mkateewa" which described the naturally abundant, rich, and fertile valley and creek bed, later known as the Mill Creek and Mill Creek Valley.

The championship golf course was originally designed by Thomas Bendelow and later redesigned and refined by Donald Ross, and is rated among the very finest in the area.  The beautifully manicured, tree-lined layout winds through hills and valleys and features bent-grass tees, fairways, and greens.
