Description

Using solar power and sustainable farming methods, Honig Vineyard and Winery produces award-winning Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon in the Rutherford area of Napa Valley.

You are bidding on a guided tour of Honig's sustainably farmed vineyard to learn about their eco-practices, followed by a tasting of their 4 current release wines. Includes one bottle of Napa Sauvignon Blanc and one bottle of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon to take home from the tour.

Robert Parker said of Honig's 2012 vintage: "This winery has a long and impressive track record working with Sauvignon Blanc and continues to produce a classic/textbook example of this varietal in Northern California."

Their 2012 Cabernet received 92 points from James Suckling, who said "Mineral and floral character with dark berry and dark chocolate. Full and firm. Shows an intensity and depth. Drink or hold."

The Rutherford appellation is known for its unique soil, a combination of gravel, loam and sand with volcanic deposits and marine sediments. It is perfectly suited for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and as such, the region has long been home to some of the most famous Napa Valley wineries.
