Description

The 2005 Stag's Leap District Cabernet is one of Rombauer’s small production (400 cases) single vineyard AVA Cabernets. The wine began with grapes from the Baldacci Vineyard, which consistently produces some of the best Cabernet fruit in Napa Valley.

Rombauer no longer produces single vineyard wines from Stag's Leap District, so this is a rare chance to taste just how good they were.

This 1.5L bottle is signed by winery owner Koerner Rombauer.

About the winery

Established in 1980, Rombauer Vineyards strives to produce the best possible wine that an appellation, terroir and climate will achieve. The Napa Valley winery is owned and operated by the Rombauer family, who embraces The Joy of Wine — the philosophy that the pleasure of wine lies in the sharing of it with family and friends. The winery produces award-winning Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc.

Cabernet Sauvignon was the first wine produced when the winery was founded, and it remains a strong offering. Their 2012 vintage was called "the prototype of Napa Valley Cabernet" by Wilfred Wong.
